I have MCS and the advice given me is that any time I encounter a smell that seems to overpower me that is an indication of a signal from my body that it is unable to detoxify that substance and therefore if I am unable to remove myself from the situation the substance will act as a poison in my body. And if i discount the reaction the sense of smell turns off but the damage is still done. More and more people I speak to now tell me how they are noticing perfumes and aftershaves as being overpowering. I think we will need to have an epidemic of MCS before these products will be finally banned and replaced by natural alternatives, substances our bodies are able to handle.
